Jay Nutting

Governmental Affairs Consultant

Jay Nutting has served as Government Affairs Consultant since joining the firm in October of 2001.  Mr. Nutting has been actively involved in successful legislative initiatives in a wide array issues, including telecommunications, energy, drinking water, transportation and public safety, beverage container recycling, natural resource utilization, and professional regulation and licensure.  In 2007 he spearheaded the effort to pass legislation that would increase safety on Maine’s roads.  He received the AAA Traffic Safety Excellence Award in recognition for his efforts. Jay also regularly provides campaign finance advice and services to numerous legislative leaders and clients.

Previously, Jay served as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill for Maine Congressman, now Governor, John Baldacci.  In that role, he focused on agricultural, environmental, and taxation issues.  Recently, Jay was awarded the 2009 Eisenhower Fellowship for Agriculture which will allow him to travel to the European Union and India to study agricultural and energy related issues.  Jay serves on the Planning Board of the Town of Vassalboro where he resides with his wife Amy and his children Cambelle and John.
